My interview with Derrick Jensen for Resistance Radio aired today on the Progressive Radio Network. This was the first time I've ever been interviewed, so forgive the shaky voice and nervousness. The last half was better than the first half, and the last 10 minutes really ended on a particularly strong note I think. For those who like podcasts, take a listen here: http://prn.fm/resistance-radio-guest-david-casey-11-26-17/ Mostly in this interview I talked about the things I wrote about in my article Thermodynamic Failure: Phrase 2. So, if you're more of a reader as I am you can get the same information in a more concise package there. It may even help listeners to have that open while listening. Other articles heavily referenced were Historical Perspective and Explaining Peak Oil. Give it a listen and tell me what you think. Hope this helps a bit for the audio learners out there. Fun fact: Derrick likes to open and/or end his interviews with nature sounds. In mine he used the Carolina gopher frog. This website tells you a bit about them and the sound file is toward the bottom of the page: http://herpsofnc.org/carolina-gopher-frog/

This statement would appear to contradict the idea of any EROEI>1, requiring all devices to be <1?

Quite an interesting interview. The only hiccup as far as I could tell was referencing HSBC and needing all these new Saudi Arabias to offset declines. Jimmy Carter said the same thing back in the 1970's...and yet none of them ever joined OPEC on the world's way to making 10's of millions of barrels of more oil, or even got noticed during peak oil a decade ago. And SRSRocco? Yikes, faux news sites won't get you noticed much beyond the same gang of folks who have been claiming peak oil for a few decades now, going back to at least 1990 when Colin Campbell began doing just this.

Hi! And I really enjoyed your interview with Derrick. I have one question. I was surprised to hear about the severe financial problems the top oil companies are having. As I want to share this interview, I did a cursory Google search, which, although it came up with a couple of periods of time referencing financial problems, the bulk of articles were about huge profits. I understand that numbers can be manipulated by either the company or powers that be. So I would like to know where it would be possible to get several sources as to the trouble the big oil companies are apparently in and have been for several years so I don't get blowback from friends when I share your excellent interview. Thanks, and perhaps other readers can assist as well.
